Austin Kuhn is originally from Evansville, Indiana. They graduated with a BS in Theatre Studies from the University of Evansville. Austin is currently an MFA Candidate pursuing Scenic Design at the University of Connecticut.
Austin's passion for theatre began early, which has given them time to develop and understand their beliefs regarding the power of the form. Chief among these beliefs is the idea that theatre should invite questions through exploration and evolution. It is crucial to Austin to understand both "why this play" and "why now."
Austin recently served as the scenic designer for Mary Zimmerman's Metamorphoses at the Connecticut Repertory Theatre. This production was an exploration of Myth and the truths within them that resonate today, despite the fact that they were originally written over 2000 years ago.
